Frequently Asked Questions
about Member Subscriptions

  1. Will I receive a password? May I share my password with friends, or is use limited solely to me?

Yes, when you complete the subscription process, you will receive a user name and a password. You are the only one licensed to use this password.

  2. What if I forget my password?

We have instructions for what to do if you forget your user name or your password. Details about how to do this will be included as part of the subscription process.

  3. Why should I get a member subscription to ACLS Online?

    Member Subscribers have access to:
Tables of contents, abstracts, full text searching, full text display, document delivery, PDFs, links to Medline and GenBank, future tables of contents, interjournal links to other HighWire Press journals, and the advantage of having password access to ACLS Online from any computer connected to the Internet.
[Ordering Procedure] [Cost] [ Membership in the Association ]

Without a subscription you have access to Tables of contents, abstracts, and full text searching at no cost and without having to register.

  4. How can I tell if my institution has subscribed? How do I get my institution to subscribe?

If your institution has a paper or online only subscription, it is eligible to have an electronic version of the journal. In so doing, you will automatically have access to the tables of contents, abstracts, full-text searching, full text display, PDFs, Medline and GenBank links, and future tables of contents. You'll also see a button at the top of the page confirming you're signed in as part of an institution.

If your institution does not have a paper subscription, it can get an electronic version of Annals of Clinical and Laboratory Science. If you would like to have an institutional subscription, please contact your local librarian.

  5. Who is eligible for a Member Subscription?

Members of the Association of Clinical Scientists are eligible for Member Subscriptions to ACLS, providing them with a paper and electronic version of the journal. Members may also have access to ACLS Online through an Institutional Subscription. Institutional Subscriptions are somewhat more limited than Member Subscriptions. The special member services are not available to non-member subscribers, and full-text access from off of the institution's network (e.g. home access) is not available.

  6. How can I access the ACLS Online if I am not a member of the Association of Clinical Scientists and I don't have access through an institutional subscription?

You may wish to apply for membership in the Associaton or you may wish to purchase an Individual (Non-Member) print or online only subscription, either of which provides access to the electronic version. Without a subscription you have access to Tables of contents, abstracts, and full text searching (without full text viewing) at no cost and without having to register.
You can also view full text of an individual article or of the entire site for a limited period on a Pay Per Access basis.

  7. How do I become a member of the Association of Clinical Scientists?

Information about Membership and application forms are available from the Association of Clinical Scientists.
